Hi Mike,

Site loaded quickly for me and looks smart - my only comment really is with the navigation - I can see what you're doing but I found the "Site, Level Above, Level Below" a bit confusing especially as a lot of the links are duplicated.

Best of luck with the site

Cheers
Andy

Hi Mike,

In NN 4.7 there is a large blank space above the navigation. I also think the navigation is quite confusing and appears to take up an awful lot of space (width).

The purple "free stuff" box is wider than the rest, making the yellow "forum" box narrower. I believe I'd make them all the same. I like the use of colors on the site and believe I'd use the idea of the boxes with headers for all your left side navigation. I'd go with one column of them, though.

For some reason the TOC pages took a long time to load. Do you really need three of them? They are also quite elaborate and wordy for TOCs. I would suggest one simple text TOC and use the content for the product pages. I'm thinking useability. If I had been searching your site, I would not have waited for them to load.

Your content seems to be really good. The average Joe just needs to be able to get around a little easier.

Best wishes,
Sandy

All,

Thanks for the comments. I am going to work to clean up the navigaton and make the Table of Contents a smaller and quicker file.

Thanks,

Mike Rischard

Hi Mike,
It's a small thing but I found the bullets on the Product TOC distracting. They are really small and my first thought was that they were an error until I looked and realized they were consistent. Maybe if they were larger...but I wonder if they are really needed.

Mike, I hope you aren't too discouraged. I know you've been working on this a long time. One thing you might want to keep in mind is that if you keep it simple, it will generally be easier to use. If you get too elaborate, things appear complicated. Internet viewers don't take time to study sites (they often don't even take time to let them download if they are slow)...they zoom through looking for information.

Hang in there.

Best wishes,
Sandy
