IIS on XP suddenly disabledII - 7/2/2006 8:45:09
I installed IIS a few days ago. It seemed to be working fine. Today it won't work. I can't start it in admin nor with the command line restart... Anyone got any ideas what's suddenly gone wrong? I've got windows XP firewall and am running firefox, with winpatrol. regards, ab :)

You wouldn't happen to have Norton Anti-Virus running do you?

No, swoosh, I don't. (AVG) I just tried a new window and 'localhost' again - found it no trouble. Probably fixed itself on one of my reboots since writing the post. There's glitchy things in my OS, I know, but I've been (like the rest of us) with windows for years...... :)

"You wouldn't have norton antivirus running on that machine do you" I'm having a similar problem, except that with me,the host PC is running Trend Antivirus. So when I try to post data to the database,no errror message is returned, but the data is not posted to the database.

Maltina... that sounds a bit like maybe firewall blocking. You could check that out. You should probably start a new thread. (Or maybe i've misunderstood everything... aaagh) :)
