acer aspire 5562 - 7/2/2006 11:34:23
I just got my new laptop acer 5562 for abt a month or less. Only now i noticed that when i use the short cut(window+ E) to open explorer, the response is a slow.It takes abt 4 to 5 seconds to response. I don't think this kind of thing should happen to a new laptop. Does anybody know why?

One more question. I used my Empowering tech to check the setting and i find that both my serial port and parralel port are NOT AVAILABLE. WHat does that mean? Help...

Thank you people:)

On the ports...

When I hand build a machine I disable all unused ports, it does save on boot up time and system resources (Just an old techie thing from when you had to sweat system resources). I also hard code the network card from auto to what it should be, same philosophy.

Save on unneeded resources now so it runs faster longer.

I however have never experienced this on a on a pre built one.

For the easiest fix on the ports I would call Acer and have them walk you through it. You are still under call in warranty. I would leave them off though unless you plan on plugging something into them but will you ever?

Take care,

Brian
