Critique please... - 7/3/2006 10:28:05
Hi, Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated. This web site is a labour of love and is constantly being tweaked. I'd appreciate any feedback from internet surfers, and am especially interested in the opinion of business owners. Questions to consider: 1) Ease of use/Navigation 2) Clear understanding of topic of web site 3) Questions you may have that are not addressed in site 3) Eye appeal 4) ETC... Please visit www.shoppersconfidential.com P.S. No need to be gentle, I can take it!!! (But please be serious)

This was strange! Everytime I go to your Information Page and scroll down a bit, it makes my monitor flicker off and on. First I thought it was my monitor but it's not. I am using IE 6.0. Let's see if any others run into the same problem.

quote:
2) Clear understanding of topic of web site Make “What is Mystery Shopping?” to be found in some easier place, since many people don't have any idea what it means. It's currently under Client FAQs under Information, which is pretty far from the homepage. quote:
3) Eye appeal Comic Sans = horror. Why not use the same Futura you've used for the navigation elements? It looks fantastic. Put it in an image and give it an appropriate alt text, and you're fine. The #0000FF blue is too harsh for the rest of the color scheme. You've used it as heading text color and as a background for other headings. Also the little buttons “Member Login”, “Request Quote” etc. — It's somehow confusing, because they're mostly used on blogs as links to other websites. They do stand out, though. quote:
4) ETC... The website doesn't validate. But in overall... it looks fabulous. The image on the left fits the message of the website, and the color scheme is nicely balanced (skin tones being the counter color of light blue). The navigation is visually clear and even the subnavigation under the Information link works and is easy to grasp. And then the usual location for copyright text, what does it say: “Your #1 Mystery Shopping Service”. I'm actually a little jealous.

I don't like the intro either. It seems unnecessary. I think the only websites that need intros are fashion sites.

Overall, I like the site. It was easy to navigate. I understood your topic after a little reading. Eye appeal....it's fine. The intro: I'm not a big fan of intros with music, but that's just me. You might want to change the music. The music you have now is not appealing to me at all. Good luck.
