drussel,

My hat off to you for, if nothing else, your individuality.

I enjoyed the content of the site, but unfortunately, I was only able to enjoy it on a fast connection...and even then some of the pages were very slow. The majority of people will not get the opportunity to enjoy the writings on your pages due to the image sizes (as you mentioned).

My suggestion (and it's obvious) would be to retype the writings onto the page instead of using images. I realize that this would be a formiddable task, but would dramatically reduce loading time.

However another idea may be to NOT put all the 'images of your writings' on one page. Instead, just provide a web page for each 'writing' page with a 'Next' and 'Back' button. Will greatly reduce your page sizes. (i.e. Provide a link to a story...that link takes you to Page1 of your writings, with a 'Next' link to take you to Page2...and so on.)

Also, you may want to consider going to text links for your header navigation. That is another source of slow loading.

The 'Send Mail' gif on the 'Contact' page has an incorrect link...it should be mailto:drussel@postmark.net...currently it's www.bubblonia.com/DRUSSEL@POSTMARK.NET. Gives you a 'page not found' error.

It would be good to keep the font consistent among your pages, in regards to color and size. In addition, all the 'Welcome' animated gifs, etc. are not necessary on many of the pages. (Except the 'sign language' gif on the home page - very cool.)

...finally, the page transition (expanding circle)...well it's kinda irritating.

All in all, though, I found it to be a proveribial 'breath of fresh air'. It will take extensive effort to get the loading times down, but I look forward to visiting again.

Best wishes,
