Sean Brady -> The (New) Unofficial Gene Watson Website has gone 'live'! (7/10/2006 16:47:02)

The new version of my Gene Watson-dedicated website has gone 'live' as of Monday 10 July 2006.

I would welcome any comments that anyone wishes to submit.

not sure about the
Last Website Update: Monday, 10 July 2006
at the top of the homepage

perhaps best lower down

Yes - I agree about the "Last Website Update: Monday, 10 July 2006". At a first glance it looks like a bit of dodgy code up there. I'd be inclined to put it right at the bottom somewhere.

Your menu seems to be falling out with Firefox (version 1.5.0.4). The lines under the menu items become thicker and stay thick even after the cursor has passed.

Finally I couldn't see anywhere obvious to listen to excerpts of the music. Might be a nice extra to offer viewers.

Apart from that I think it's a good looking site.

Hi

I'd definitely increase the spacing between the navigation items on the left hand side - they're a bit squashed together.

I'd also get rid of the pt for font-sizing as that's a print measurement and doesn't allow anyone to increase the font-size in IE (and it's very small text!). Go for % instead (probably around 72% at a guess).

Why the redesign? The older version was very good.

Trebuchet MS in the title graphic is OK, but the lowercase “g” as a capital doesn't work.

It doesn't have the same unique feel the old site did. The color scheme was much better. It looks like the site was just put together without much designing anything.
