Nice article and I am a MS user and like their products but this kind of stuff does disturb me a little:

I smell "cross-browser incompatibility" and "damn the standards". :) :) They don't really say it but how many wanna' bet this stuff will be in IE deep.

Yes I agree. The damn thing of it is, that they do stuff like that because they are lazy and greedy. They could do a great job with all the technical expertise they have.

What happened to this kind of spirit:
We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.
