"Drop down" lists in FP - 7/23/2006 18:21:05
How do you put drop down lists in FP 2003? I want to build a Navigation bar and include some drop down boxes with options to choose from. For example, I have a navigation bar the lists Home, Pictures, Departments, and more. If I want to mouse over the "Pictures" button and get a drop down list that has "1st grade pics", "2nd grade pics", "3rd grade pics", how would I do that? Keep in mind that I'm a newbie and have basically no knowledge of HTML or script. I don't know if I'd need to know this or not. Thanks. Johnnie

To my knowledge, FP will not help you with something like that. Here is one of many you may want to try: http://www.htmldog.com/articles/suckerfish/dropdowns/ You will inevitably have to do some work in html view.

If you are talking about a DHTML menu, take a look Here. The site owner, Jim Buyens is a MS MVP and author of a number of FrontPage books.

I used this one from Dynamic Drive.com that is pretty straightforward to use and customize. http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/dropmenuindex.htm To minimize the amount of code in my page, I put the javascript into an externally linked file and included the CSS in my overall external site sheet. But you could just as easily do it exactly as they describe. Here it is in two different applications: http://www.edgesz28.com/ http://www.bennygordon.us/home.htm Good luck, Ed
