d a v e -> slight display problem after iss.host (7/26/2006 7:56:35)

after 'exploring' some apparently dodgy download from the net i picked up a trojan downloader isshost.exe and lots of spywaye/adware - after cleaning my sys and checking for reoccurences i seem to be clean but i'm experienciencing some display probs as in the pic attached (the menu buttons with white backgrounds) in e.g. notepad, photoshop, but not in other things e.g. firefox
any ideas? (other than not to download stuff from ddgy sites ;)
