I need to brighten my web site up!! My main two colors are Blue and Orange. I need another bright color to go with them.

Right now I am using grey as my third color. I have Grey as my background. I am not happy with that color as the background.

I was thinking the color of yellow. Because yellow and orange goes good together. But I just can not seem to get the right yellow. This yellow needs to be tone down. I do not want it real bright.

Maybe you guys can give me some ideas for my web site's colors. I have to stay with orange and blue.

Try not to look at my button links. I am going to change that. Because it does not seem to go well with the setup.

I think I just found a nice background that will work.

After I posted this topic, I click that Angels Message web site. That background on there works great. Maybe I just needed to brighten the grey more.

I will get back to guys on what I come up with. I am going to have to go to bed soon anyway.

Don't worry about another color. I will work with this LIGHTER grey color first.

Man have I been BUSY over this weekend!! Well here is what I came up with on that other color.

I just used a different background and went with a LIGHTER gray color.

I am up to hear your negative or positive feedback about the setup and look of my web site. If you seen it the other day, I had a solid darker grey background and some bad hyperlink buttons.

I decide to make Hot spot hyberlinks for my text in orange and blue. My question for you guys is "Does my text image with the Home | Teamwork look ok?".

Personally I wouldn't have used images or hotspots for navigation - it's too vital. Especially since the text within the images is so simple you could just use actual text and make it more accessible.

the background with the lines isn't nice! horizontal lines like that are hard to use at the best of time and the grey on white looks a bit grim

your text image looks ok but for users that browse with grahpics off and those that have to use screen readers to accesss websites don't see anything because you have no alt attributes (e.g. alt="Teamwork") on your hotspots

while i'm at it making useful suggestions i'll mention your header graphic
joining together
it doesn't look very joined together because the words are apart and the (poor quality) photos are separated by a line right down the middle

if you have some photos you can pm me and i'll knock something up for you, though to be honest i feel that your colour scheme just isn't working! (heck i'm coming over as a real nice person here;)

anyway hope that doesn't sound too harsh but you have done a good thing and it would be nice to make it even more successful!

Hi Tony,

I agree with what the others have said so far, especially what Dave has said about the quality of your banner images. They're not the best quality, and even perhaps a bit distant. Perhaps the people or what they're doing could be a little more close up?

I also think the "Joining" and "Together" words in your banner should be the same colour, neither the orange or blue work for me even with the white border around the letters.

As for adding another colour, I wouldn't! Perhaps to your page background but then i'd only use a shade of grey, just experiment with various shades and see what you can come up with. You don't need another main colour on the site also because you have many coloured images lower down on that opening page that brighten it up enough.

If possible could you also darken that blue a little? I know you have to stay with blue and orange, but I happen to think they're great colours to work with, espacially with a bright orange and a deep, non-irridescent(sp?) blue.

I'm sure if you search this forum for "orange and blue" you'll find where I gave this same advice to someone else ages ago, but sports teams, football teams with the colours you're working with and see how they deal with them//what other colours they use to complement the orange and blue.

why do the colours have to be orange and blue? must have missed that ;)

firefox logo is orange and blue for example or the attached has quite a good combo of blue and orange

Plain colours that seem to work are

#003366

Also, if you change the background to the same colour as your blue line so that merges in. Looks quite cool. #036fbe

You will need to change the colour of some of your text though as it'll merge

You guys are awesome. This is all good in my book. Because I can learn from this.

As you can see, I am not a very good web designer. I am trying to save some money. But like they say "you get what you pay for".

Let me answer some of your questions now. I wanted to stay with Blue and orange, because it is in the three 10 foot banners I paid for. More I think about it now, maybe I could go with other colors. Got any ideas?

As for the blue background, I kinda thought about going that way. But I had the clouds in the background that I thought look OK. But the wife did not like it.

Dave, you brought up some good points about my banner. I do not have the right programs to make the pictures blend in together. I would love to have some one take those pictures and do something with them. But my funds are low. Let me know if are willing to help me out.

Again Dave, you brought up another good point. I never thought about people not seeing a image. They would not have any links then. Now how can I put a link on my orange and blue text, with out it changing to my PAGE hyperlink colors?

Wife is calling me to go eat. I am not taking anything you all said bad at all. What you all did, means a lot to me.

Only bad thing now is, I GOT MORE WORK TO DO!! hehe

If you go with the blue background, use the dark, same as the bars and make it plain. The rest of the page is busy enough. Listen to your wife, clouds - not good. [:D]
