pay per click graphic banners better? - 8/4/2006 13:28:55
I will be launching my site soon. I was looking for a pay per click advertising program. What is graphic banner advertising and is it better than pay per click text link advertising?

Graphic ads will use an image instead of text. Graphical ads are more eye catching, and in certain places will do much better than a text ad.

I never use banners. Always use text. I blend it in with the content to make it seem more natural.

I used the baner ads and got more clicks than text. This was using the Google adwords. I guess it all comes down to is what type of site you are targeting.

I usually make a page of content. In the content are links to the affiliate program, works pretty nice.
On Google Ads I seem to get the best clicks when it is in between two paragraphs of content.
When I tried banner ads on the same pages CTR went down 1 1/2 % over the course of 30 days.
Guess mileage varies.
