IIS and frontpage extensions problem - 8/5/2006 5:56:27
I have a problem with the forms on the intranet. The forms submit to the database when published to other machines, except one machine which is supposed to be the host.If I try to create a new site,I can publish a few times with the forms submitting to the database. After a while, when I publish,it tells me about conflicting files even if I publish to the new site. Then if I continue publishing in any way,the forms do not submit to the database.I tried almost all the advise I got from this site, but nothing seems to fix the problem. And as of now,I need help as in yesterday. My boss is on to me. Please help.I tried working around this problem and looks like I'm not winning. I even tried to uninstall IIS and reinstalled it,during uninstalation,I found this error "The server administration programs and the server extensions on the web server are not compatible. The administration program is too old to use with this server" Could this be the reason for the forms not to submit to the daTABASE.iF THAT IS THE CASE,WHAT SHOULD I DO TO CORRECT THIS. mY POINT IS,THE FORMS WORKS FINE WHEN PUBLISHED TO OTHER MACHINES,EXCEPT THIS ONE. OR COULD IT BE THE REASON THAT THE SITE IS SITTING ON THE SAME MACHINE AS TREND Antivirus software. Thank you,

Unistalling the FPSE could cause more problems. When you re-install the FPSE, did you re-publish the form? Make sure you are not copying any _vti folders from one server to another. These files need to be published via FP and not copied or FTP

Look here for the resolution of the error message. Looks like there are extensions issues... The Micro$oft (oops) answer quote:
Could this be the reason for the forms not to submit to the daTABASE oh yeah. To mirror Corey's query, did you publish or copy the pages to the website? quote:
OR COULD IT BE THE REASON THAT THE SITE IS SITTING ON THE SAME MACHINE AS TREND Antivirus software doubtful, unless Trend has deleted some files in a scan, but they would have to be infected. If you are running some kind of server that has Trend and IIS on the same machine, who knows. And as always, remember to back up, before changing anything, and you should check the server logs for info before making any kind of determination.
