Hello, I have downloaded the free trial and then tried to install it. It will not install. I really am an amateur with this sort of stuff, so do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
Eric

Welcome to Outfront Eric,

Does your computer meet all the systems requirements to run EWD?

When you say it doesn't install does it give you any type of error message?

ejb5oh -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/21/2006 23:08:01)

I believe that it does, but I am not sure if I meet all requirements. Running windows xp media edition. I tried to install framework which I downloaded from the same website I downloaded this software from. It only tells me that I can either repair or remove the framework currently installed. I took this screen:

This microsoft link is what I found so far about the CTP1 failing to install.

you do have enough hard disk space correct?

ejb5oh -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/21/2006 23:31:17)

Awww. THink I might have found it. I have Office 2007 installed. I believe it may be because I have beta 1 installed. Going to see if I can correct that and try again. WIll keep you posted.

Thanks
Eric

ahhhhhhhhh, first one on the list

ejb5oh -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/21/2006 23:47:54)

Nope, still did not work. I uninstalled Office 2007 Beta 1. Still will not install.

ejb5oh -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/21/2006 23:58:08)

Okay. I have removed any and all Microsoft Office files. Still no trabajo.[:@] I have no ideas now what I need to do. But, it would just be my luck to have found a completely new issue on the matter. Open to any suggestions.

Eric

I'm not a support person and this is just what I would try.

If it was me I would do a restore to a time before all the beta stuff was on my machine. After that do a defrag, cleanup and try it again.

Good luck.

ejb5oh -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/22/2006 9:53:31)

Unfortunately, I cannot restore that far behind. My restore had been turned off until recently. Any other ideas?

mar0364 -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/22/2006 13:59:04)

I don't want to sound like a doubting Thomas (no offense Tom) but there is always F disk. I guess that command still works.

Sorry I could not help.

Rich

ejb5oh -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/22/2006 14:20:36)

What is F disk?

mar0364 -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/22/2006 14:41:12)

WARNING THIS CAN BE BAD!!

The above being said.

Going to the dos command prompt and typing that command will wipe out your hard drive. Thats how I would start with a clean hard drive when I screwed mine up. Haven't done that in years.

ejb5oh -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (8/22/2006 15:02:35)

I think I will just wait until the bugs get worked out. I am going to reinstall Office 2003 when I get home, maybe that will correct the Office 2007 files that may be conflicting. If not, I will just wait and stick with Frontpage 2003.

Thanks for all the advice.

Eric

You must have the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed before you install EW.

bbigham -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (2/27/2008 13:08:37)

I tried yesterday and today to get into the site and it appears to be done. Any idea what's happening?

BobbyDouglas -> RE: Thomas Brunt's Expression Web Designer Site (2/27/2008 13:42:16)

Tom is already aware of it. There is some issue with the place the server is at, and hopefully will be corrected soon. It sounded like an issue that Tom can't do anything about.
