WantToLearn -> EWD and VWD (8/17/2006 11:07:33)

If you want to start learning the ASP.NET part of EWD (master pages, skins and themes, website security and logins, super easy database access, etc.) I would highly recommend checking out Microsoft’s VWD (Visual Web Developer). It’s an absolutely free download and it’s NOT a beta; it’s the real thing. It's comes with a great help file and tutorials and there's a ton of free third party training. I’ve been using VWD since it first came out in Nov 05 and really enjoy it. It already has many of the features that EWD will have. In fact, much of EWD uses the same “engine” as VWD. From the EWD website: quote:
“Expression Web Designer draws on site functionality and Web services created in Visual Web Developer, and both products can be used collaboratively between designers laying out pages and developers building back-end functionality. ASP.NET 2.0 code and controls are fully compatible, and the design preview surface within both products is identical so that designers and developers can work on the same solution and build the better end-user experiences.” P.S. I don’t work for Microsoft or anything like that! [:D]
