"Hey everybody,
I've read a couple of ""SEO Books"", and though I've picked up some good pointers, what I'm looking for is a more conclusive manual of Search Engine Optimization.
Does such a thing exist, or do I just need to learn on my own? "

There's a newsletter I get that usually has some SEO great info in it, and the author conducts SEO courses as well.

I have taken this course 6 or 7 times. If you want to learn to do it the "right" way and the way that is best for your customers it is the way to go. Cricket will also teach you html, css, and blogging...and it is FREE. You go at your own pace and will have to go thru more than once to get it all, but if you are serious about learning SEO the honest and valid way, this is what she offers. My site went from 400 visitors a month to 2200 with her course. After a year off I am now going thru again to learn CSS. Lots of daily email tho because this is how she teaches the course. Can;t recommend it highly enough.

I also highly recommend Cricket's Free Seo Classes

BOTH the SEO Class and the Marketing Class are required. One must join both BEFORE one's membership will be approved. It's important the guidelines are followed, this is a class not a normal list.

Cricket belives in paying it forward and this is her way of doing so. She is very good at what she does.

Thanks all for the recommendations. SEO has become a hot topic for a couple of my clients. I've asked my wife, and business partner to check out both the "gnc" and the SEOmoz sites.

Again these forums are "The Sources" that I turn to for help. Thanks to you all for sharing.
