EWD Design Drop Down Menu, etc - 8/24/2006 20:09:00
I am totally new to web design. The basics of EWD seem easy and work OK - especially since I am new to it all.

I am now trying to add a drop down menu. I inserted the menu with the choices, but now how to I get the data loaded to show what viewers receive if they choose that option?

Does it involve the additional asp download? I downloaded it, but I am not sure if it is running as part of the program. Not having any luck with the help menu that I downloaded either.

Welcome to OF. Not sure what you mean.
How did you insert the menu?
Have you got the other pages already set up for the menu to link to?
Have you got a link to a page we can look at?

Did you select the drop down menu from the toolbox and drop it into the page?

Thanks for the response. I did a click and drag of the drop down menu from the toolbox. I added the five choices to the box. In a preview page I have the menu that will drop down, but how to I get those options to connect to another page for each of the options?

Here is the code copied for two drop down boxes on the same page (not that I actually wrote any of it):

<h3>Choose a schedule from the menu<span class="style10"><strong>3A</strong></span><form method="post" onsubmit="return FrontPage_Form1_Validator(this)" language="JavaScript" name="FrontPage_Form1">
<select name="Camas" style="width: 137px; height: 26px">
<option>Choose 3A Team</option>
<option>Camas</option>
<option>Columbia River</option>
<option>Fort Vancouver</option>
<option>Hudson Bay</option>
<option>Kelso</option>
</select><br />
</form>
<span class="style10"><strong>4A</strong></span>   <form method="post">
<select name="Battle Ground" style="width: 137px; height: 26px">
<option>Choose 4A Team</option>
<option>Battle Ground</option>
<option>Evergreen</option>
<option>Heritage</option>
<option>Mt. View</option>
<option>Prairie</option>
<option>Skyview</option>
</select></form>

OK, a form option box.

To start with, go here and download the Help files that didn't come with EWD. See if that moves you along.

I downloaded the file, but get this message:
The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

I am online, so I am not sure what is not working.

The file does not connect through EWD help, only independently.

Go download the latest version of Expression Beta, the help files are included with it this time.
