GolfMad -> Upgrade to Windows Server 2003 or 2007 (8/25/2006 14:08:32)

Having many FP webistes over 5 years I am stuck with exisitng hosts on an old Windows 2000 server, which it seems they prevent from doing anything and this is more noticable as technology moves on. I realise with EWD and perhaps Visual Web Desiner Express, that to use asp.net 2.0 I am going to have to make the jump to a new server package ( 2003 or 2007?). Believe it or not our hosts will not help at all in the transistion telling me that I would need to sign up for a new server package and manually transfer all our websites to the new one. So I would be stuck with two reseller hosting bills and the thought of about 100 business clients needing to change their pop3 and smtp servers and changing over some shopping carts (do older ASP exisitng shopping carts work ok on Windows 2003 servers supporting .NET 2.0) - wow what a headache!!!! So if any one nows of a good way to handle such a transfer or has experience of such events I would be pleased to hear. And my ultimate question is will it be better to wait say 6 months until Windows Server 2007 comes out and the hosts are offering new packages; I am thinking the new raft of design products may work better with the newest server product? Regards Phil
