womble -> RE: Anyone here design logos or has a program to make a better logo? (8/25/2006 20:51:06)

Hi Tony, I was recently trying to re-do a logo for a site (the original logo was done in WordArt [:'(]) and I couldn't get the anti-aliasing to work right to go on a transparent background in PSP, and after a long time googling I eventually found AAA Logo which has more logo objects and templates than you can shake a stick at, and add shadows, re-colour, resize etc. You can export in all the usual formats - the only problem is you can't do transparent backgrounds, so you then need to import it into a graphics app if you want a transparent background, but I think that's a minor inconvenience given the price. A couple of weeks ago I spent an hour with a client 'ooohing' and 'aahhing' over the lovely combinations we came up with - all the objects in there are re-colourable, moveable, resizable etc. - she was so impressed I could do all these clever things with the image she wanted - I didn't like to tell her it was the software doing the hard work! [:D] You can import objects into it, but you can't resize/recolour etc. imported images so I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but it may be worth a look. They do a trial version of it and the full version's only $49.95, which I thought was pretty good.
