Hi and Welcome to OutFront.

Windows server?

For servers that you don't want to loose any data, I use Veritas Backup Exec. Not cheap but never fails. And it is the best IMO if you have to manage media as in a tape jukebox, etc. I have an 8 tape AIT backup unit that Veritas handles flawlessly.

A common overlooked solution is the Windows Backup software. Many people don't realize that Veritas' backup engine is based on Windows Backup and Veritas can read/import Windows Backup media IIRC. I use that on some less-important machines. Hey the price *is* right on that one and it does work surprisingly well.

And for between backups Raid 1 is most excellent. Expecially with hot swapable drives.

quote:

Level 1 -- Mirroring and Duplexing: Provides disk mirroring. Level 1 provides twice the read transaction rate of single disks and the same write transaction rate as single disks.

Next level is much nicer...redudnat servers.

I've been playing withn someone elsess money tooo much I think here.

Take care,

Brian
