Yes, just did. I'm playing around with it now to see what's new, if anything. Hopefully it will at least be more stable. So far, everything looks the same as CTP 1.

mar0364 -> RE: Beta 1 Now Available! (9/6/2006 11:53:44)

I'm hoping they put more stuff from VWD in there.

mar0364 -> RE: Beta 1 Now Available! (9/6/2006 12:01:42)

I'm going to remove the first beta before I put this one on. Is that what you did?

ou812 -> RE: Beta 1 Now Available! (9/6/2006 13:05:57)

I left the CTP 1 there and let the Beta 1 overwrite/upgrade. It seemed to do okay.

Looks like the help application may actually contain help this time.

I noticed that Expression requires .Net Framework 2.0 to be installed. I currently have 1.1 installed and think that having them both may have been at the root of some problems with OL Bus.Contact Mgr (which I subsequently uninstalled). Untangling the mess created by installing OL BCM (and Framework 2.0) was time consuming & a real trial. Even got Microsoft SME support involved (guru level, I'm told) and even he was not sure if that was the problem though he suspected that it was a factor.

I'm going to hit the MS Newsgroup for Windows to look into the compatability issue. I guess this is a CAUTION to all, check if you already have .Net Framework 1.1 installed and "LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP" into 2.0.

I'll post the results of my query here if that's OK.

I've had 1.1 and 2.0 installed on several computers and not seen a problem. You absolutely sure it was that?

This is a quote from Slipstick.com
"BCM is so new that we don't have a lot of troubleshooting history so far."

I'd look no further than BCM itself.

sorry, forgot the link to the slipstick BCM page with the quote
http://www.slipstick.com/bcm/bcmfaq.aspx

It also mentions that BCM is a COM component and is thus unmanaged code in dotNet terms.

Anybody have an alternative download link for this? Can't get if from MS. Keep getting page errors and message saying MS is having tech difficulty.

By the way. I uninstalled EWD and is screwed up a lot of my MS Office installs including Frontpage.

I'm having a similar problem. When I go to the download, it asks me to login with my Windows Live ID (which works EVERYWHERE else), and then I get the error you see in the attached image.

BigBlue -> RE: Beta 1 Now Available! (9/17/2006 18:53:56)

I tried again last night, and it worked. It didn't ask me to register first, so maybe they recognized there was a problem on the site and removed that variable from the equation.

Anyhow, if you're having trouble, give it another try.
