y007 -> Can't see folders when uploading them in Frontpage (9/8/2006 7:24:16)

I have Frontpage 2002 and Windows XP. I try to upload from my computer some of the files and directories which I have created for my site. I use the command, File > Publish web > in the Frontpage menu. But in the window which opens, under the name "Publish Web", I cannot see all the directories which I have created for my site. I see only some of the directories and all the files. I should say that each directory is related to one of the files (HTML pages) and it contains pictures and graphics for that specific page.

I have already uploaded in the past some of the folders which I cannot see them now in the publishing window. But I have removed them from my site to assure there will not be any conflict between the old and the newly loaded folders.

Obviously, I cannot upload the directories which do not appear in the publishing window.

All the directories and files for my site are stored in the same directory on my computer.

The folders which I don't see are regular folders which I have created, or have been created by Frontpage to store pictures related to ordinary HTML pages. They are not special folders.

Why I can't see all the directories in the publishing window of the Frontpage ??

Hi and Welcome to OutFront.

Do those folders by chance have an underscore as the first character of the name? As in "_folderName" ?

Thanks for your Welcome.

No, they have no such things in their names. They have usual names.

If you're publishing them, check to make sure they're not excluded from the list of files to publish.

If they are on your local HD, try importing them into the web instead of publishing them.

Either of those any help?

All the files and folders for the site are found in the same web-directory on my hard disk. No file or folder relating to the site is given in any other directory on my hard disk.

So did you try importing them? Did you check them for the "No Publish" flag?

Or just stating why you're not trying?

I imported as you said, but a weird thing happens. I can see now the missing folders in the Publish Web window. But all the folders in that window are empty. At the same time, when I check those folders in Windows Explorer, they are NOT empty. They contain all the appropriate pictures and other stuff.

As a trial, I published one of the folders, but on the web the related page of that folder appears only with text without any picture. Obviously, the Frontpage is uploading empty folders, that's why the page is without pictures on the web.

I don't see how it is that on Windows Explorer the folders are not empty, while in the Import window and in the Publish window they are empty.

I also checked flags. All the files have flags which allow them to be published. There are no flags near any of the directories.
