Inserting external Guestbook - 6/16/2001 20:41:00
Because My ISP doesn't support FP extensions, I want to insert an external guestbook, I have one set up with Be seen. they have provided me with some HTML to paste into my page, and an address to link to. Only problem is I paste into HTML view, but when I go back to normal view or Preview I only get the HTML code, how and where do I set up this link, PLEASE help it's driving me round the bend!!!!!!

Can you paste the code here so we can see what might be causing the problem?

Try copying and pasting into Notepad first - and then copy and paste into HTML mode.

Just an FYI- the reason that helps is because when you copy from an HTML page in a browser window, the encoding is copied into the clipboard, not just the plain text. When you paste it into an editor like Frontpage, it keeps the partial tags and is treated as if it was a paragraph. Wordpad, on the other hand, strips away all of the coding. So, when you copy it back you get only the plain text with no formatting changes.
