FrontPage Frozen - 9/17/2006 5:05:22
Only other time I had this happen was when I rightclicked and chose Hyperlink...got the small dialog box but then switched pages to go look for the link. Upon return, FP with the little hyperlink dialog box was frozen.

Today, it did similarly. I went to insert a picture - chose "from file" - but entered a web address because it's worked a million times to go out, get the photo and put it in. But this time, it just hung.

Now, I was in the process of writing an article. It's half visible but everything's frozen. Is there any way at all to kill that "Insert Picture" process without shutting down FP completely so that I can still save the writing I've already done?

Please say yes! Thanks, Sam

Yes?

I have no idea, it all depends on what's going on.

First off try hitting Escape

A few suggestions that might help.

Go clear out your history, cache and any old cookies you can get rid of.
Clean out your temp Internet files
In Explore, do a search for all *.tmp files on your machine and delete as many as you can, they won't all go as some are in use.

That'll free up plenty of disk space and let IE breathe. Every time you fire up FP it brings IE with it, that's what it uses for preview. If IE is cluttered up with old files then you can get problems.

It's useful to do that sort of clean up fairly regularly anyway along with a defrag to keep the machine running at it's best.
