Seventh -> RE: Can I get some feedback on customer site, (9/21/2006 20:39:37)

Hello, cemooreart. First, the disclaimer: This only my opinion. Nothing more. Nothing less. Let's begin. 1. Home Page- The first thing I notice are the colors. They're all beautiful, yet the way they're being used doesn't work for me. I'm guessing that they were chosen for a warm and relaxed feel as they fit that type of palette. But there's 1 or 2 too many.
- The acronym thingy doesn't make much sense to me. I understand what it's trying to say, but it doesn't quite say it. (ex. Education > Educating or Real > Relevant)
- The "From the desk of:" reads S - From The Desk Of: - abrina Vaughn. The 'S' overpowers the rest. And the statement/content below doesn't fit that title. Move this to the About Me page.
- To set herself apart from other motivational speakers I would suggest using one of her own quotes on the home page. But that's a personal thing.
2. About- There are quite a few spelling errors and missing words.
- Not sure what the TIME graphic in the bottom left is for.
- The 'This opportunity' statement should be in the about us section. Put a relevant quote here.
3. Message- The title of this page is a little misleading. I was expecting to leave a message or see some type of message by someone.
- Not sure what the Creative Thinking graphic in the bottom left is for.
- Multiple quotes. I would stick to one per page.
- Continued Page 1??? Needs more description. Next Page or Go to Page 2, etc.
4. Topics- By now I know who Sabrina is. Do you still need to have the name in every page header?
- Again, the graphic in the bottom left doesn't quite fit the page.
- Would probably add a link to whatever that MAKING IT COUNT thing is you reference.
5. Motivates- I think it needs a better page label/name?
- The quote moved!
- I think the Engagements should be in newest-to-oldest order and should have at minimum the month and year.
6. Request & Contact- Isn't request and contact pretty much interchangeable? I would merge the two.
Final Notes: Overall, designing a site, whether free or paid, needs the same amount of attention to detail as it is still a representation of your work. That said, I think you're on the right track. You just need to follow-up on or tweak a couple of things, such as the following: - Multiple font use - Relevant graphic use - Spelling - Missing or incorrect words - Color Palette (even though I like the colors) That's my opinion.
