Div behind content - 9/23/2006 1:41:59
I am using a layout that I want an extra div to go behind the content div an be partially visible with only want a backdround pic inside it. I have seen this done but can't remember where and have been searching all evening but no results.
Here's my code:
quote:

RE: Div behind content - 9/23/2006 5:39:38
#extraDiv {
position: absolute;
top: 350px;
left: 20px;
width: 355px;
height: 300px;
background: url(images/skytile2.jpg) no-repeat;
z-index:-1;
}

The z-index changes the stacking order on the page. -1 says put it at the bottom with everything else on top.

Thanks Jay, works great in IE but disappears in FF. Is there a work around for FF?

Not got time to look at it now but it may be to do with the other layers not having indexes. Try adding some. Remember the lower the number the further back on the page it sits.
