limited or no connectivity - 9/24/2006 13:24:45
I am not able to access my network or the Internet because the network cannot assign a network adress to my pc. It can't self-repair. I have just formatted my pc and I don't know what to do now. I have installed the nforce drivers (abit nf7 motherboard) and that usually fixes all the problems. Thanks

Hard wired connectivity. I have read that the widows service pack 2 might be the problem. I have tried fixing it with some patches and regfixes but nothing happened.

Do you have a spare LAN cable to swap? I've seen that when 1 'side' of the cable is bad.

Have you reinstalled the drivers yet? (remove the entire driver package first, then reinstall it, make sure the cable isn't plugged in when you do this) I would try what rdouglass said first, then reset the router, then try to reinstall your drivers, and then try another router. If you reset the router, it will usually delete all of your settings. Most routers allow you to save/export your settings, so you can import them later.

Well, I've swapped the cable and reallized that that wasn't the problem. I've formatted my pc again and now everything works just fine. I can't explain it because I've done everything exactly like the last time. Thanks anyway
