?? on process - Visual Web Developer / FP2003 - 10/4/2006 11:12:47
I'm in the process of trying to implement an SQL database (via the Visual Web Developer Express) into an existing FP2003 site. I have a few questions:

1) Basic procedures - can the SQL database reside solely within the appdata folder? or should it be separate from the website?

2) What specifically needs to be present on the webserver? I will maintain this over the network via an IP address. I assume I'll also need SQL Server on my local machine. Right now, I only have it on my local machine for development.

2) Can 2 users maintain one website with different publishing tools? In other words, can I use Visual Web Developer for the asp part of the site, but maintain the static part through FP2003? Are there any issues to consider in this method?

Thanks for any help!
Spooky

1) Normally the database is native to SQL server, and thus kept seperate from the site?
2) The web server will ideally have access to the data as well. The SQL server should be running on the same machine or network
2)You can do - take the obvious precautions and try not to edit the files at the same time ;-)
