mjl -> Ski apartment website (10/5/2006 9:24:22)

Hi,

I've just put together this site to advertise a ski apartment in Bulgaria. I've avoided letting anyone see it to date, so I would expect there to be a lot areas for improvement.

The address is http://www.escape2bansko.com

Any criticisms / ideas would be great!

Cheers,

Mark

Hi

You've got this:

<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%>

Above your html tag and it's showing on your page in FF, Opera etc. Also in the non-IE browsers the rounded corner thing isn't working properly - the two corners are pushed together in the centre of the screen which looks a bit odd.

It's an interesting booking system - do you mind if I ask which bit of software you used for it - or did you write it yourself?

Cheers Tailslide,

Yep, the corners thing doesn't suprise me. That's what I get for not testing it in different browsers. I'll have to fix that one.

The booking system isn't anything fancy. The calendar is a freebie from rentcalendar.com that I was able to pull into the page and the actual booking part is just a PHP form which sends an email confirmation to you and another to me, then redirects you to a 'Thanks for the booking' type page.

Thanks again for giving it the once over,

Mark

Pretty darn nice [&:]

It's visually disconcerting for the tri-mural photos (both groups) to run together as they are now - a little separation will allow the eye to stop on each picture (which is idea).

the guy on the snowboard is a little dark - particulalry in the midtones how about something a bit lighter in the middle? (my version isn't ideal as i'm saving from your jpeg and it has to weigh in under 50k for the forum, but you get the idea)

also where the heck is bansko??? :) oh in the 'on the slopes' it says bulgaria, but you could mention that on the homepage either/and in the header and main text

agree with larry about the 'trimural' (real word? ;)

why not make your link colour in the plain text the same colour as in the header naviagtion? (#203D96)
