Little pics to BIG pics - 6/17/2001 20:46:00
Help! I give up and need your help.
I need to put up little photos of products (thumbnails?) on web pages and then when clicked on, they must increase by at least 400%.
I saved the photo file to my hard drive and can move the pics into the website but HOW do I get them to increase in size when clicked on. If I try to increase the size in Photoshop and then move two images into the site (big image, little image), they get blurry.
Thanks for any help you can give me. This is an incubator project for school and the oxygen is running out!

Hi harpo.
You don't need to create the small version of your picture as Front Page will do it for you. On your web page insert the picture at it's big size and select it. On the picture toolbar there is an icon (third on the left) for auto thumbnail. If you click this Front Page will automatically turn your big picture into a thumbnail. When someone clicks the thumbnail the big pic will open in a new window.
You can change the settings for how you want your thumbnails, eg size, border etc, in Tools>Page Options>Auto Thumbnails.
Hope this helps.

My problem is that the client's photoCD will only bring up tiny photos in Photoshop. When I try to enlarge in <image size> to move into FP, they blur terribly. I'm missing a step here, I know.
Thanks, and this site is the greatest!

I'm guessing you're starting with .jpgs? Unfortunately, you cannot enlarge .jpgs without losing quality.

Yes, they were psd.s that I converted to jpg.s
Now what!? Do I re-convert them, if it's even possible? oh argh. Or delete them from everything and recopy the photoCD?

Thanks much!

You will need to start again with the original graphics.

Sorry.

Like she said, you just can't go from little to big harpo.

Big to little is the only way to go when dealing with jpegs.

How do I go about to make a new window open, that is the same size as the picture and without bars and menues...
(I've been creating java popups but this is sooo much easier...)

((((And HEY!! -You are really the best!))))

Yes I would also like to know.. Now I understand how to use the autothumbnail but is there a way to make it pop up a new window and have a close option without having to make a page for each "normal" sized .jpg? thanks

You would do this with a pop-up. There's a great generator here: http://javascript.internet.com/generators/popup-window.html
