We are thinking about a site re-design after the holidays. I welcome all critiques - design, usability, shopping cart suggestions, etc. Thank you!

Hi

Firstly, I really like your tagline "our animals rock!" - that's brilliant! I also like your logo although I think it's impact is lessened by using it's colour on the background - you might be better off using another toning colour. Have a look at this site: http://www.behr.com/behrx/workbook/index.jsp and click on "Start ColorSmart". It's actually a way of choosing paint schemes but they come up with some good ideas that can be used for websites too!

Secondly you need to look at your use of fonts. I personally don't like Century Gothic unless it's quite large or bold - it looks a bit spidery otherwise. Also, you've got several different fonts used on different pages and it does make the text look a bit messy. If you're unsure then stick to Verdana or Arial (sans-serif fonts are easier to read on screen than serif fonts like Times). Stick to using one or two fonts throughout the site to get a uniform, neat look.

I think that the standard blue link colour clashes badly with your blue/green bar - why not change the link colour to the same shade. Also some of your breadcrumb links and headings are using the sandy colour from the logo which is in fact too pale to use for text - too difficult to read. The headings could be made bolder but I think the breadcrumb link text or other text needs to be much darker.

Other bits:

1. The blue/green bar doesn't stretch across the whole page - looks like a mistake.
2. The "Standing plush animals" nav link is underlined for some reason.
3. In Firefox there's a black bordered box in the sidebar at the bottom, don't know what it is and can't see in the code as your markup is all on one line and therefore really difficult to see.
4. On that subject, some of your code is pretty messy. It all functions pretty well which is the main thing but it's always better if you can to do away with coding errors.
5. Errors aside there's a couple of things that could do with neatening up like some of the bullets in the navigation are actually links - this is obviously an error and could be confusing for people. Personally I'd do away with the bullet things all together and just use an unordered list with list-style-type:square - you'll get the same effect with much less hassle.
6. I think that the two reliable business logo things in the header section are really ugly - they might look better in the sidebar.

To summarise, I'd get a different background colour to add a bit more punch, sort out the fonts, sort out the font colours and maybe move the other logos from the header section. If you get time, sort out the coding errors.

All in all it's a nice site which just needs a bit of neatening up.
