The problem is that you used Word. Word creates horrific and bloated HTML and will only work on certain browsers. You cannot create a functional website in Word and then paste it into Frontpage

I have done this before and the one page is displaying properly. The only trouble started when the documents were upgraded,so I needed to upgrade the site too.

I just don't know what went wrong this time.Unfortunately my site is an intranet site,so you can't access it to confirm what I say.

The images were edited using Visio. Moreover, the server that hosts the intranet site does not have visio installed in it.Can this be the problem?

I doubt it is the problem with Visio unless you have Visio files. If you see a lot of VML tags etc - that is why it is not showing up - a lot of bloated code

This is the problem with using Word and Excel for web pages. Whoever came up with that in Microsoft should be shot. Personally I'd like to see it banned.

If they can't see the images then they've not been embedded when you converted.

Do yourself a favour and set it up as a proper web page.

What do you suggest I do to contain the problem.

If you have the images in Word - create them to be GIFs maybe do a screen copy and crop them down. Create the website in Frontpage and not Word or any other MS product

As I said and Corey agrees, redo the page as a proper web page. You'll be doing yourself a favour. I'm told that IE7 (due to arrive on a machine near you very soon) will not render pages that were created using Powerpoint>Save as HTML. It is therefore quite possible that some very odd things will happen to pages created in Word and Excel too.

From looking at the newsgroups and downloading Expressions, (which I am very pleased with) - FPSE will no longer be supported too much longer and it seems that all the CSS hacks that one made to work properly for IE 6 you might not need in IE 7. Expressions seems to make the websites much more compliant.

I also just did a test using Microsoft Word Art and copying it into Expressions. It does show up on Firefox (which I have seen in the past did not work).

There are hosts who have already stopped using FPSEs and mailed their customers to tell them.

Microsoft found security problems with the Extensions and because Expression Web (which doesn't use FPSEs), is due out soon they decided not to update the code, have stopped supporting it and removed the downloads from their site.

The timing of all of this just seems too convenient.
IE7
Expression Web replacing FP
demise of FPSEs.

I have my theories.

Without being able to see the page there is little else we can do. If the images are not showing then either they're not loaded in the correct place or they're the wrong format.

Given that you're using a combination of Word, Visio and Frontpage the opportunity for things to go pear shaped is enormous.

You've spent a lot of time trying to get it to work, give up and build the page properly in FrontPage or Expression Web.

Copy and paste the text as plain text into the page.
Save your Visio images as gifs and insert them as pictures.

Thank you all for your suggestions.I finally got it to work and thought someone may need this. I resolved the problem by publishing to a new location. And wow,it worked like a charm.

Thank you very much for your help.
