jillmleach -> Critique my site? Please? (10/19/2006 8:14:49)

I love constructive criticism! Please let me know what you think. I am by no means any kind of coder and bascially use Frontpage for everything with very little javascript. Here it is. Also, I'm looking for a way to keep the image pop ups, always on top so that they don't get lost behind the main site screen when switching between products. Thanks![:)]

Are you talking about the color behind the buttons, etc.? This is supposed to be a forest green, but is probably too dark. My monitor at home must have a brighter resolution. I

That green definitely looks too dark on a crt screen at least. It makes your site look a bit like a funeral parlour.

Also the music is not a good idea, or if you must have it provide an "off" button. Apart from the fact that most people will not share your musical taste, there is the consideration that many people surf at work and the music is a dead giveaway to their colleagues that they are not on company business

The green is too dark, but that's only because of the white background. Change the background and you have a totally different site.

Very nice images on the homepage, but you're missing alt texts for them. Please don't make that mistake.

What image pop-ups would that be then? Those of us browsing with firefox see no popups. People with popup blockers see no popups. IE7 blocks popups.

The site is lovely but the popups a waste of time.

i like the colors....i like it.

might be nice to have a pic of carolina or the shop or something on the contacts page.....

Thank you for all the feedback! I've made some changes to the color and added page names, etc. Now, I just need to get sales!

Well I would but I hate walnuts, can't you take them out? I think you need to make several varieties.

And fudge

Cream fudge

mmmmmm

Ahhh more site stuff. Firefox I was on the pashminas and clicked the dropdown, selected lilac and the box goes blank.

Can I also issue a plea. Nothing annoys me more than going to a site that shows brown pashminas, has a dropdown for other colours and when you click it, the picture stays brown.

If you offer different colours you need to show them so people get an idea of what they're buying. Your idea of lilac and mine may be completely different.

Many sites these days change the pic when you select a different colour.

You might want to be aware that some pages (including the Home page) are showing gaps between sections in Firefox. This screen capture is an example of what I'm seeing:

jaybee -> RE: Critique my site? Please? (10/31/2006 4:52:47)

That's odd. I don't see the gaps in FF.

walrus -> RE: Critique my site? Please? (11/8/2006 16:29:44)

I get the gaps in IE6 and they get bigger if I increase the browser window.

billoutfrontforum -> RE: Critique my site? Please? (11/12/2006 21:59:13)

I love your site.

It's plain and simple with nothing to redirect the visitor away from SELLING PRODUCT. Oxman's Razor is true.

Not sure what you mean about the pop ups though.

How are you directing traffic to your site?

jillmleach -> RE: Critique my site? Please? (11/30/2006 16:07:41)

Thank you! We are not doing much to promote it. It is in Yahoo Shopping, but that's about it. I don't want to invest much in search engines because this is really just a hobby. Do you have any cost effective suggestions?

jillmleach -> RE: Critique my site? Please? (11/30/2006 16:09:06)

That's very strange. I don't get them on any other computer in IE6.
