Heavy interlinking of sites can be a negative with Google. I got hit whith this first hand two years ago. I tried to bump start a new site and added it into my footer navigation on another site of mine. No algo changes in the next two months, nothing else done on the two sites in that two months. Dropped down 4 pages worth of SERPs.
This is just a limited exercise as it was only two domains but I took it to heart.
Now what you can do is host on different providers, make the who is/contact information private. Make site a point to site b, site b point to site c, Then point site c to site a.
