Error 1023! Bad or missing mouse - spank the cat?

Unsolicited pop-ups basically just piss me off.

However, the real usefulness I have found of pop-ups is when I NEED to still see the information on the page I am on PLUS the additional information given in the pop-up, especially if I know it will be a pop-up window. (i.e. Help file.)

Outside of that, I must agree almost wholeheartedly with Mr. Peppar. (not discounting your comments 'Spain'...)

Don't expect your users to know what your intentions are...tell 'em up front...it will make your life easier.
