Trouble hosting multiple sites on local server. - 11/2/2006 13:57:13
I am running Server 2003 on my laptop to do website development work prior to publishing to the www. I have one site up and running fine on this local server. I have now tried to create a couple of new ones using the new website wizard in the IIS Manager. I follow all the instructions and give each new site a unique header name, etc. When the wizard is finished and I look at what is in the new site folder, each new site has the initial site in it as well as all the necessary files for a new site. When I log onto the new site the old one opens up at the new address and if I enter data there it shows up on the other site as well? If I delete the initial site from the new site folder the initial site is gone from where it should be as well. My research tells me that I should be able to host multiple sites and should be able to work on one without effecting another??? Anyone have any idea as to what I overlooked?
