Files not shown in Remote web site pane. - 11/6/2006 14:55:28
I am having an impossible time publishing my web site. I have about 5 other sites that publish to the same remote server just fine, but his one will not publish. I use FP 2003 and it shows two window panes when I publish. The left window shows the files on my computer (local web site) and the second one, the one on the right normally shows the files in my remote website (the one on my server), however, I do not see any files listed on the remote site. I have refreshed my server extensions. No matter what I do I cannot see my remote website files. Does anyone know why this might be? Also - when I try to publish, I get a message that the server times out. Help!

Try this: On the left side where you see your docs locally, go above and you should see website? Now under that, you have a drop down box named View. Make sure that says Folder Contents.

Thanks for your advice, but the tab is set to Folder Contents. Is there anyone else that might have an answer for this? I am so frustrated I am about to delete my website off the server and start fresh. Help!

What happens if you change it to something else while having the check in the lower right hand corner as Synchronize? Have you asked the host to check the extensions? Can you log in 'live' to the site?

I have refreshed my extensions dozens of times. I cannot log on live to the site. I have double checked my passwords, user name. Using the same user name and password I can access my servers gateway. I have made sure my publishing privileges are set properly. I have tried to publish to another URL and it works. Nothing works. Help!

If you cannot login live, it seems there is a problem with FPSE on that server. Are you the Server Admin for this? Do you have a webhosting control panel (if so, what is it)? If you are the server admin and no control panel, is everything entered manually?

If you cannot login live, it seems there is a problem with FPSE on that server. I HAVE REFRESHED THE FP SERVER EXTENSIONS MULTIPLE TIME, AND I'VE HAD THE HOSTING COMPANY DO IT AS WELL. I have even went so far as to erase all the front page extensions manually and added them back. Still not improvement. Are you the Server Admin for this? WE HOST WITH A Comapny Called XO and I have adminstrative privages as Master Administrator. Do you have a webhosting control panel (if so, what is it)? YES YES - XO HAS A WONDERFUL CONTROL PANEL AND I AHVE FULL ACCESS. I have full permissions for accessing the directories, and I have file permissions to read an write to all files in the directory. Help!
