http://tredosoft.com/IE7_standalone

Excellent link for runing the browsers IE as a stand alone. Highly recomend this site for a great read and instructions on how to do this.

Have you tried this Deb? I got the old versions of IE running on my PC ages ago from the Skyzyx Downloads site (I think that got pulled?), but it was a PITA to set up. I was running the IE7 beta on my laptop, but on the grounds that my laptop's likely to stay IE6/XP for some time while PC's due to be upgraded some time next year, I ended up uninstalling IE7 from the laptop and going back to IE6, and installing the new IE7 on my PC. It would be nice if there was a reliable and easy way to get standalones working though.

Not yet, just recieved the link from a good source or would not have submitted.

Making fried chicken right now, so it will be a bit before I try it out.

I'll wait for a standalone IE6, and then upgrade to IE7.

You can read that on the site. Go down a few through the posts that are on there and the stand alone 6 is avaliable.

That's it, this is the direct link Multiple IE

This is a great find! I've passed it on after testing it myself to make sure it can handle sessions/cookies [:)] .

I didn't test the older browsers, but now I'm running IE7 and can log into sites using IE6 as well with only a couple small problems.

Thanks and more thanks!

Hi Davids,
I'm glad that you found this useful.

I haven't switched over yet, but plan to shortly.

Ha! So if this doesn't work I now have 3 people to demand retribution from. [:D]

Update, - the link takes you to an executable that installs IE3 to IE6 and they all run alongside IE7 with no problems.

IE 7 dosn't have all the bugs worked out of it right now. I'm still jusing the IE6

jaybee -> RE: Runing IE7 and IE6 on the same OS (12/15/2006 14:07:37)

IE7 is OK. I installed 2 days ago (let all the loonies on here check out the early versions first [:D]) and so far no problems at all. If you load it, then run the executable in the link above you'll have all your bases covered.

I've been using IE7, with the tool installed since 16 November. No problems at all with IE7, and really like some of the improvements. Haven't really needed to use the older versions since no possible compatibility issues have arisen.
