Index error? - 11/7/2006 20:31:59
I'm trying to help a colleague with his web page done in Front Page. In order to post to our web server, it is necessary to change the name of the Index page to the folder name (Initial + Last Name). After doing so, it seems that when he tries to open the home page, the navigation bars and page banner are gone, and it is displaying a message that he needs to add this page to the navigation structure to edit these components. The Index/Home page seems to exist in the navigation structure, but when it is double clicked, it says that it does not exist. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks.

Yes, the hidden folders are not in the same folder.

You're looking for _private _borders _themes that sort of thing.

Does your server have FPSEs on it? If so, he should use FP Publish to Web rather than just uploading.

If no FPSEs then you upload all the normal files but make sure you also get all the other folders within the site such as those listed above and all the vti_cnf. Without them the bots won't work
