curious monkey -> Here's another (11/14/2006 21:15:32)

OF:
Welcome back monkey

Me:
Thanks.I've been far to busy to comment that much but I've been popping in from time to time. But please critique this update of of my past website. I didn't like it before so I decided to redo, you know crtl+Y.

[:D]

no but seriously please critique it and give all feedback. no links work so it's just the one page.

here's the link i'll be waiting [;)]home

Hey the links don't work! [;)]

It's different. It's clean My initial comment would be about the blobs under the tree. They look more like something you'd get from your doctor than raindrops.

Nicole -> RE: Here's another (11/15/2006 5:35:58)

I like it!

I'd move the vertical line further to the right though, at the moment there's too much space to the left of the text and too little next to the menu items. And when text size is increased the line next to the links breaks in half?

The word "Welcome" although I know it's partly obscured with raindrops looks a bit weird along the bottom of the letters.

Nicole

Edit: Actually, when text size is increased, the line to the left of the menu breaks too. And at 800x600 a horizontal scrollbar appears.

curious monkey -> RE: Here's another (11/15/2006 10:46:39)

so in everyone's pro opinion I should lose the "blobs"?

to the vertical line Nicole I can't move it over because the gallery link is a drop down menu and it would be right in the middle of the sub menu. I was thinking about getting rid of the line all together. any thoughts?

lastly are there any tutorials anywhere that I can see how it reacts to text increasing and how to fix them?

jaybee -> RE: Here's another (11/15/2006 11:39:56)

Changing text size?
http://www.jbvisions.co.uk/access/Resizing_text.htm

please ignore the spacing on the headings on the page, I did a tweak to the stylesheet earlier and screwed them up. I'll sort them out later today.

womble -> RE: Here's another (11/15/2006 11:59:41)

Well spotted Jaybee. You win today's spot the deliberate mistake competition. [:D]

Brain is working a little less well than usual at the mo - slightly distracted by an assignment for my web course on Coldfusion that has to be in by midnight - have I mentioned recently I think I must be crazy for deciding to sign up for one of the damned courses again? [8D]

While I'm here though little curious one, I'm wondering if the blobs might work better if "welcome" was shifted over to the left. You've got a lot of space between that nav column on the left and the main para on the right.

Anyway, now where did I put that Coldfusion book....? *sigh* [:-]

jaybee -> RE: Here's another (11/15/2006 14:51:16)

The blobs are only going to work if they look shiny and more like water. At the moment the one that's half green looks like something I had for my sinuses. [;)]

Yes, go look for a fly out menu that works in all browsers not just compliant ones.

curious monkey -> RE: Here's another (11/15/2006 15:18:21)

ok i changed the snot [:D]

and all the white space between the nav and the para is because of the submenu

so you like it [sm=yupi3ti.gif]

jaybee -> RE: Here's another (11/15/2006 16:02:48)

You're gonna hate me.........

no cos now the "snot" is merging in with the text which has gone all fuzzy.

This link shows you how to do water drops in PSP. Ignore the bottom of the page, it was obviously framed.

jaybee -> RE: Here's another (11/15/2006 16:21:30)

Or, if you have PSP google for water drop picture tubes then you can istall them and blob away to your heart's delight.

I could never hate you Jaybee maybe send you a care package of nanas to show my gratitude.
