I’ve got broad shoulders, I can take it. - 11/15/2006 7:49:13
Please, you are invited to review / criticise my site www.JGFilm.com. Your reviews can be light-hearted, humorous, full of attitude, and maybe even nonsensical but please provide positive feedback for future development. All recommendations will be considered it will be finding the time to incorporate them that will be my concern. This is my personal site that was initially intended to share with friends & family. The site has been a few months in the making: I would like your reviews and comments to be as unforgiving as possible; I’ve got broad shoulders, I can take it. I was delighted with the response from my first post so I thought I would have another go. This community is very informative. The moderators provide practical and constructive guidance to the newbies. Kind Regards Mr H

Ok, many thanks. What’s this firefox business! IE6 is what I browse with. Is there any future in firefox? Is this a browser I should consider? All my movies are in .wmv format. So sounds like I have a lot of file conversions to make if I switch to firefox or another browser. Can anyone tell me if my “Gallery2” photograph gallery viewed ok in fire fox or any other browser other than IE6 come to that? www.photography.jgfilm.com Much Appreciated. Mr H

OK I’m converted. I’ve installed firefox2, hopefully all I need now is a plugin to view my window/media audio files. Working on it.

Apart from the not working in Firefox thingy (yep, there is a future in Firefox, it's getting an ever increasing share of the browser market, and you really need to make sure your sites work in all the commonly used browsers (IE5-7, Firefox, Opera, Mozilla and Netscape at least), there's a distinct lack of navigation on the home page. I wasn't sure about the flying in "you're in the frame", which to be honest I couldn't see the point of the flying in bit. It's nice and simple and uncluttered which is always good, but the player on the home page seems sort of stuck on afterwards. Possibly if it was lined up with the heading on the left it might tie in with the page a bit more. You're gallery isn't showing - I'm getting your hosts's page, but it looks as though the DNS hasn't fully propogated yet. That could take a couple of days. One last thing - I'd ditch the hit counter. On the whole counters only tend to show how many visitors you haven't had if you're not careful (though it's pretty easy to fake them).

Suddenly I fee like a small fish in a big bowl gasping for air. All points noted. I will loose the dynamic effect, hit counters and look at my browser issue. When browsing IN firefox: I don’t suppose anyone would have a link to a plugin that is required for playing the (mini version windows media player) Kind Regards Mr H
