Looking for some insight - 11/16/2006 17:33:13
Great site all. Anyhow, I have been dabbing around in website development for a bit and have been working on a site for a non-profit youth sports organization. They lacked a website and I volunteered to develop one for free. Frontpage was my primary development tool for it. Anyhow, I would really enjoy some feedback from this forum on the site. A few considerations to take into account:
- I needed to develop a site that both kids and adults would enjoy
- I need to make it information, but at the same time not to boring
There are of course a few problems I have encountered (mainly that it is difficult to get sports coordinators to give me much data about their sport) so a lot of information pages lack information. I also need to speed some time optimizing the site for faster load times (so any suggestions on how to do this would be great).
Next steps for this site is to add an online registration page (so I need to now learn how to add a database).

Anyhow, the site is www.nmpryde.com , any feedback you all have you be much appreciated :).

Thanks all
jaybee

Well you came to the wrong place here. :)

My initial comment would be, slow that rotating picture down. I didn't have time to look properly and it kind of flashes when it changes.

It certainly gets the job done!

I agree with Jaybee about the rotating image - I'd slow down to half it's current speed. I find the yellow on:hover writing on the navigation buttons a bit hard to read - you might want to change that to a darker colour.

The only other thing I'd add would be that it would be better if you have the same navigation menu on every page (even if you have another one underneath it) otherwise it can get a bit confusing.
