hreichert -> Curved lines in Photoshop...that actually look nice (11/21/2006 20:40:26)

Using Photoshop 7.0, I think I know HOW to make those curved lines that are so popular on website headers, but mine just don't look nice! I am using the pen tool and creating path points, then converting the points to curve. But...blech, so unprofessional! Is there another way?

I've tried searching for for some free shape downloads, but I can't find any curved lines. I'm not sure if I'm putting in the wrong words or if they are so simple to do that no one else needs them, and thus no need for a supply.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Heidi

Not sure what you mean by curved lines. If you're talking about swooshes then this might help

Yes, that helps, thank you! "Swooshes" is a word I'll need to use when I do my next internet search. I typed in "swish" and got information the like-named software instead!

My next need is a "swoosh" with more than one curve...up and then down...mine are so not pretty...

Do a swoosh as above. Copy it. Mirror it horizontal and vertical. Chop one end off each and join them together.

Thank you!

I also found out that I was moving my "anchor points" incorrectly. I was only moving them "right and left" not up and down. When I move them up and down, the curves are symmetrical, which was my goal.

So, I think I've got it!

Thanks again for your time!
