womble -> RE: Gallery display problem (11/25/2006 12:36:45)

The problem with most of M$'s FP components such as the gallery etc. is that they use proprietary code, that is, non-standard code that's understood only by IE and not by the standards compliant browsers such as Firefox, Opera and Mozilla. The photo gallery component is one of the ones that won't display right in other browsers, as you've discovered. As far as I know there isn't a fix. Your only alternative if you want it to display the same in other browsers is to use a photo gallery that uses standards compliant code. There are a number of full blown gallery options such as Coppermine, Plogger, etc., most of which are pretty configurable and come with instructions. Sites such as Dynamic Drive have a number of relatively simple image gallery scripts. In most cases they're a matter of copying and pasting the code into your page, but they're not WYSIWYG like FP's components - you do need to go into the code.
