Windows 2003 Server Issue - 11/27/2006 12:32:08
I have a small problem. I need to set-up access to certain files for certain users on our server. The guy that I would normally have do this is unavailable and I need to get something in place ASAP.

Can anybody give me any pointers as to where I might find some info or can anybody start me off. I need to understand the priciple behind it. Will I be allocation security groups to folders and then giving security access to the relevant people?

Any help a plus!!:)

Are you wanting to use FTP (if so - what program, ServU, Windows FTP, etc) or are you going to use remote desktop or something else?

I will use Remote Desktop and I would like to assign some people to a particular folder and others to particular drives. Do I define groups for the folder and the drives and then assign them to Users?

If so, where do I define those groups?

Sorry to sound so vague about what to do but we have been left a little exposed and this is an interim situation.

Thanks.
