Firefox clever things - 11/27/2006 17:09:55
I've just upgraded to FF2.0, and only realised after installing it that I'd forgotten to check if any of my essential extensions weren't compatible. Unfortunately my favourite Sessionsaver extension isn't compatible... :)

Yay! But then Extension Hunter saves the day! :)

I've just discovered, after looking for a Sessionsaver like extension (it was always a bit flaky anyhow) that I don't actually need it!

Tools>Options>Main>When Firefox starts [Show my windows and tabs from last time] ('Main's the first tab in the 'options' window that opens) :)

I also discovered (and this is something that's been annoying me for months) the totally wonderful Foxmarks. I've been attempting to sort out my bookmarks on Diva and Diva-ette and get them all onto Netvous, but it's been a total PITA. Now, five minutes after installing Foxmarks on both machines, my bookmarks on both are syncronised...and you can access all your bookmarks from any PC anywhere in the world by going to my.foxmarks.com. Yay! :)

I would reply to that Jaybee, but this is a public forum and the OF word censor rather edited my message anyhow. :)

That is fantastic as is the way it auto-populates the reply boxes from code I highlight.

Great tip!

I'll go for it. Now, if anyone can come up with colored tabs that are compatible with this version

Sessionsaver does more than just load the tabs. It actually caches the entire FF session on your computer, so when you bring the session back, it will restore everything. This includes: what was typed in the search bar, any inputs into textareas, posted data, etc.... I didn't think that the built in session restore feature had these. If FF crashes when I am typing something out inside of it, my session restores without any issue at all.

Yes I've seen that. It gives you the choice to start a new session or restore the old one. Cool isn't it.
