Pay Per Click vs. Pay Per Sale - 11/29/2006 9:52:07
Hi, guys.

Just a look at the problem from the side of an affiliate program. Definitely, we prefer to pay on the "per sale" basis. Otherwise very soon you will be cheated by some dishonest partners who'll be generating absolutely worthless traffic. So, you'll have to pay less for all clicks, including those which are good. This way what economists call "adverse selection" is being created.

But maybe there are some strong pro-s for the Pay Per Click system?
Can you share your experience with both?

Best regards, Seopharmacy

What about a mix of the two. A small amount per click but a larger fee on conversion.

I think sellers would notice the referrals drop like crazy if PPC was dumped completely as most people who stick links on their sites wouldn't bother.

As an affiliate member I would think the mechant would only want to pay me for the conversion.

I will happily join your program and send you all sorts of BS traffic as you are only paying for clicks. Also I could get a few zombie workstations to generatre auto clicks from around the globe ramdomly throughout the month.

But I am ethical so I would never do that :).

Hope that helps for the cons side of the argument.

Take care,

Brian
