Convert old-fashioned slides to digital images? - 12/4/2006 10:47:35
I hope this is the right forum for this question.

Does anyone know the best/easiest way to convert slides to digital images for use in a PowerPoint presentation?

You can get a gadget for your scanner that allows you to scan them in. I have no idea how good they are though.

Might also be worth going to a local Photo shop. We have a chain called Snappy Snaps over here and they stuff they do, apart from just printing your pics for you, is amazing.

Thanks Jay. The only thing I could find on the web, other than companies that will convert them, was a suggestion to project the slide on the screen, and then take a photo of it.

Problem solved. As you suggested, I called a local camera shop. For a dollar per slide, and five dollars for the disk, they'll convert them. Not a bad deal, at all.

Thanks, Jay. :)

Try this

Projection might be OK but you can't use flash or you get a great pic of a projection screen unless it's back projection.

That's what I was thinking, too. Probably wouldn't come out all that great.

Yes. :)

I saw your link after I posted, checked it out, but I'm going to try to convince my customer to take the slides to the photo store.

Thanks again!
