Upgrading Win 2000 to Win XP ? - 12/11/2006 11:21:49
A friend who had an extra copy of XP Pro upgrade gave it to me after I had mentioned I needed to upgrade my OS. I have never upgraded an OP before. In the past I have had the full version and did a clean install. Has anyone made this upgrade and if so did you have any problems? I'm running a Dell Dimensions 8100 with a P4 processor at 1.3 ghz if that helps any.

As long as you prepare for the worst (read data backup) you'll be fine, disable any active scanners (A/V, Spyware) and dive in!

Thanks, I plan to after New Years Day. I don't want to take a chance of a big headache right before Christmas.
