Gwen -> Anyone familiar with Omni Update? (12/21/2006 10:42:03)
It's a website program used mostly by institutions of higher learning. I've been asked to submit a bid to update a website, which uses this program. I can't access it until I get the contract, so it's difficult for me to gage the amount of time it will take. From what I've read on the Omniupdate.com site, it looks pretty simple, but if anyone's actually used it, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

I took a look at the demos they have on the OmniUpdate site and it reminds me a lot of sharepoint where users can update information, upload files, etc. based on their profile. Did they give you any idea how large the site is or how many pages will need to be updated? Are they just wanting updates to the content or will you be working with the css, design, etc.?
If you haven't done so, I'd suggest you register and watch the videos to get a better idea of what it's all about.
Good luck! Swirl

Agree with other Shirley here. It's not so much the editor itself which you can usually learn on the fly, it's the site you'll be working in. How is it built? Did the developer purely use Omni or were they hands on in the code with XHTML and CSS, javascript, PHP, MySQL? That's the info you really need as that's where the learning curve is.
