Works great on all XP machines - dramatic improvement on LED screens. Especially applicable for Accessiblity and "maturing eyes" issues.

An atypical, magnanimous gesture from MS (free of charge) and it's yours Here

IE7 has clear type as standard.

Not sure what the download does as you've always been able to activate it via the control panel... at least in mine - haven't you?

The clear type in IE7 has been causing some monitors to look fuzzy so we've been switching it off. Is this a fix for that?

If so, is this the new MS tack. Noooo no bugs in IE but here's a nice little add-on for you. Out of the goodness of our hearts. [:D]

Oh ok I get it. I switched the cleartype off in IE7 - it was hurting my eyes!

There is *some* adjustment you can make to ClearType.

I found on some displays it actually makes it worse whereas on others it helps.

Yes, it appears alphabetically in the Control Panel as an icon entitled "Clear Type Tuning". Adjustments are offered including a deselect switch.

Wow! Just noticed I have 1974 posts. Gaining rapidly on DPF (where are you, Dan?) and jaybee. Har, har.

I'm beginning to feel picked on. [;)]
